Travelling by car:
Travelling from the north
Leave A171 Whitby Road signposted Egton. As you approach the village of Egton bear right. Drive through the village of Egton and proceed down a very steep hill into Egton Bridge. You will travel under the railway bridge and then cross the River Esk. As you leave Egton Bridge take the left turn signposted Goathland 5 miles. Proceed up this steep and twisting road and take the first left turn signposted Goathland 4 miles and Pickering 15 miles. Blue Beck Cottage is the first property on the left. Please notice that there is a gate which needs to be opened manually when entering the grounds.
Travelling from the south
Leave the A170 at Pickering and continue on A169 towards Saltergate and Whitby. Turn left when signposted Goathland 21/2 & Beck Hole 3 and Roman Road.
When you reach a small roundabout take first exit and carry on on the road signposted Egton until you reach the cottage. When you will see a signpost on your right stating Esh Valley 1 to the right and Egton 1 1/2, Whitby 8 straight ahead, you have reached the cottage. The cottage is on the right hand side of the main road just after this post. Please notice that there is a gate which needs to be opened manually when entering the grounds.
Travelling by train:
The nearest Mainline station is at Whitby, approximately 8.5 miles away. Taxis are available at the station. There is also a small branch line at Egton Bridge, which is approximately 0.8 miles from the cottage. Please check https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/stations/EGT for details. Unfortunately there are no taxis available at the station.
Travelling by bus:
The nearest bus stop is in Egton Bridge approximately 0.8 miles from the cottage. Bus number 99 runs from Whitby to Lealholm. Please check http://www.coastalandcountry.co.uk/localBusServices.html#service99 for details.
